Our kitchen has always been about learning something new, slowing down and enjoying the setting of Howth Castle. This season we're bringing that same spirit to a new series of creative experiences at the castle, and the next one takes us out of the kitchen and into the woods.
On Saturday 14 November, join renowned landscape artist Sorca O'Farrell for a day of landscape and tree sketching on the estate.
Sorca's work is a direct and emotional response to the landscape close to where she lives, right here in Howth. She knows the hills, coastline and woodlands around the castle intimately, and she'll help you look at them with fresh eyes.
This is an explorative workshop. It's less about perfect drawings and more about observing, experimenting and responding to the trees and landscape around you. You'll spend time sketching in the estate's woodlands with Sorca guiding you, and return to our newly renovated workshop rooms to develop your ideas.
With a maximum of 12 people, it's a small, relaxed group with plenty of one-to-one guidance. It's a lovely way to spend a quiet November Saturday.
