11 Daytime Cookery Classes You're Going to Love

May marks the time of year when we introduce more daytime cooking classes at Howth Castle Cookery School. From pasta-making workshops and tasty bakes to fishing for ingredients and cooking classic Irish dishes, we’ll be adding more classes in the mornings and afternoons as the season progresses, including daytime cooking classes for adults and for families. 

Whether you're a confident cook looking to refine your skills or a complete beginner ready to discover the joy of making things from scratch, our daytime classes have something for everyone, including the young foodies in your life.

1. Teen & Tween Pasta Making Workshop
Sunday 10 May | 11:00 a.m.

A brilliant introduction to the kitchen for younger cooks aged roughly 10–14. In this hands-on session, teens and tweens will learn the art of making fresh pasta from scratch, rolling, shaping, and (most importantly) eating their own creations. A wonderful way to build confidence and a life skill they'll actually use.  

You’ll also get to prepare some really tasty sauces to go with your pasta that are both easy and quick to put together. Come along and have some family fun together - learn more

2. Feast from the Sea

Howth is one of Ireland's finest fishing villages, and this class celebrates everything the sea has to offer. You'll get to know how to select, prepare and cook beautiful fresh seafood, a class that feels right at home in this part of the world - learn more

3. Howth Seafood Chowder & Treacle and Guinness Brown Bread Workshop

A true taste of coastal Ireland. Learn to make a rich, warming seafood chowder using the freshest local catch, paired with the iconic combination of treacle and Guinness brown bread. Sometimes you just want great bread, fast. This practical, enjoyable class covers a range of no-yeast breads that come together quickly, paired with flavourful dips to match. 8. Catch & Cook

One of our most popular classes, and it's easy to see why. Starting with a boat trip to fish the freshest catch, you'll learn how to handle, prepare and cook fish with skill and confidence.
